Washington-Based Attorneys for Defective Tire Litigation

Over the past year, problems with Firestone tires used on certain vehicle models manufactured by the Ford Motor Company received national media attention. Both companies faced mounting repercussions as more victims surfaced.

As many as 200 lawsuits were filed against Ford and Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. (a unit of Japan’s Bridgestone Corp.) on behalf of people injured or killed in accidents involving tires on Ford Explorers. To date, Ford has settled at least eight lawsuits out of court and is expected to settle many more pending cases.

The government has been investigating more than 3,500 complaints about the tires, including reports of 148 deaths and more than 525 injuries. Ford claims the problems are related to the tires alone, while Bridgestone/Firestone maintains that Ford shares in the blame.
