Subaru Recalls Vehicles Over Shattering Windows

Subaru is recalling several vehicles over window issues that could lead to injuries. And according to the firm, the recall should not be ignored.

According to the report, the 2019 Crosstrek vehicles come with rear door windows whose glass may fail to conform to federal standards. As a result, the driver’s side rear window glass may eventually shatter, exposing occupants to injury risks. The company said that it did not properly temper the glass during the manufacturing process, leading to this problem.

While the number of recalled cars is relatively low, this issue shows that manufacturers still have a long way to go to make sure their vehicles are safe.

Subaru says that while it isn’t aware of any incidents, car owners should not ignore the recall.

Impacted car owners will receive letters in the mail reporting on this recall. They will also issue a separate letter to impacted car owners in other markets in Canada, Europe, and Australia.

The company will also send an in-vehicle notification to drivers who subscribe to Subaru Starlink.

Subaru Recall Campaign Begins July 19

If you were already aware of this recall beforehand, you may ignore this detail. However, if you’re only learning about this issue now, keep in mind that the company will officially begin the recall campaign later in July.

Until then, do not ignore any issues you may experience with your car.

If the window glass shatters while you’re using it and injuries occur, report the incident to the company and regulators. After all, these reports may help to protect others who may have the same types of cars.

Protect yourself and your loved ones by responding to this recall promptly. And if the firm fails to contact you soon, reach out to Subaru for more details on how you should proceed.
