Speeding Responsible For Serious I-5 Two-Car Accident

Tragically, many accidents can be traced back to a few common causes. They include intoxication, distraction, and speeding. Sometimes, these crashes occur due to a combination of two or more of these factors, and the consequences are just as bad as you might imagine.

Recently, an accident on I-5 was tied to reckless driving and high speed.

According to the accident reports, one person was seriously injured after a black 2008 Honda Pilot heading southbound on Interstate 5 rear-ended a 2000 Honda Accord.

The Honda Pilot driver wasn’t injured but the Accord driver, a 26-year-old, was seriously injured and flown to a hospital in Tacoma.

The children riding as passengers in the Honda Pilot vehicle were not injured.

The Washington State Patrol has stated that the driver to blame could be charged in the near future.

As the WSP investigates this accident and unveils more details over time, we must remember that reckless driving may lead to serious problems. Speeding is one of the consequences. Unfortunately, speeding also makes collisions more likely as going at high rates of speed may keep drivers from being able to navigate certain road conditions correctly.

If you’re a driver and you are serious about your safety and the safety of others, you will never speed. Especially if you have children riding as passengers.

While we’re glad that no fatalities were reported, we also hope that the victim in this accident is able to recover from the serious injuries fully and in a speedy fashion. We see too many similar accidents and we know these collisions can take its toll. Both the victims and their families may end up suffering a great deal, and sometimes, the suffering won’t end with the initial treatment.
