Is Seattle Becoming Dangerous For Older Pedestrians?

Pedestrians are very vulnerable. And while as personal injury attorneys we’re always concerned about any accident, when it comes to Seattle car accidents involving pedestrians we feel even more inclined to discuss it. Hopefully, by discussing these incidents, we will help our readers and clients to be better, safer motorists.

Patch has reported that a 78-year-old woman was involved in an accident as she crossed Rainier Avenue using a crosswalk.

The terrible accident caused the pedestrian to suffer life-threatening injuries and had to be taken to the hospital immediately.

The driver involved was a 35-year-old man who was behind the wheel of a Lincoln Town car. As the woman crossed near South Walden Street, the driver made a turn from Walden to head southbound on Rainier, hitting the woman.

The Seattle car accident is still under investigation and officials are not sure what factor led to this tragic accident.

In our line of work, we see many similar car accidents in which pedestrians are severely injured. While thankfully they are often able to recover, many suffer a great deal of pain while others suffer pain and wage loss due to the time they spend away from work to recover.

As the bills pile up, these victims are unsure whether the party to blame will ever pay for what they did. Without professional help, they may not know the answer.

We hope you and others who are reading this will stay alert whether you’re a driver or a pedestrian. Drivers must understand that pedestrians are vulnerable to risks. Pedestrians must also know they are vulnerable so they, too, must act accordingly by taking precautions. Still, many pedestrians are at risk simply because drivers do not pay attention to the road.

We hope the victim in this tragic car accident is recovering fully and completely. We also hope the authorities are doing all in their power to identify the issue that led to this accident. Only by identifying what led to the accident will other drivers be able to learn from this tragic occurrence so similar incidents can be avoided.
