The latest crash to have happened in Washington state that involved an intoxicated driver happened in Grand Mound. According to the authorities, five people were injured as a result of this crash.
The Washington State Patrol reported that at around 9:45 p.m. Saturday, four people were traveling eastbound on SR 12 when the driver allowed the vehicle to cross into the oncoming traffic, crashing into another car. The second car was being driven by a 51-year-old man. While the authorities reported that the cause of crash was a DUI, nobody was charged.
Four people were injured, a 41-year-old, a 45-year-old, a 47-year-old, and a 28-year-old. At least two people were sent to the hospital for treatment. Nobody died as a result of the crash.
While we’re glad that no serious or deadly injuries were reported, we hope that other drivers learn from this driver’s mistake.
DUI, or drunk or intoxicated driving, can cause the driver to become incapable of negotiating certain emergencies and responding to them in time to prevent collisions. Drivers also often experience issues with their motor capabilities and serious and potentially deadly collisions may then occur.
