Multiple reports have indicated that Subaru of America, Inc. has launched a recall campaign that impacts all units of the 2010 through 2014 Legacy and Outback vehicles. Impacted units of the Legacy model were manufactured between November 2008 and June 2013 while units of the Outback model were manufactured between January 2009 and June 2013.
These vehicles may experience contamination, causing components within the windshield wiper motor bottom covers to interfere with each other.
If that occurs, there might be an issue with the wiper arms, keeping them from stopping in the parked position. If that occurs and the motor continues to be in use, the part may overheat and the bottom cover may melt.
Consumers with the recalled vehicles are being contacted soon, but according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, an official notification schedule has yet to be announced.
The second recall campaign consumers should be made aware of comes from Honda.
According to the official announcement, Honda has recalled all units of the 2014 and 2015 Grom 125 motorcycles that were produced between June 2013 and September 2015 as well as the NSS300 and NSS300A motorcycles of 2014 and 2015 year makes as well. These motorcycles come with resin brackets that are part of the fuel pump assembly that may swell, increasing the risk of a crash.
Honda has reported that if swelling occurs, the fuel pump may seize and the motorcycle will stall as a result, increasing the risk of a serious crash.
Honda has announced that all impacted vehicle owners would be contacted in the near future, but hasn’t announced a schedule.
Consumers with the recalled vehicles will have their fuel pump assemblies replaced with one that ues a metal bracket internally in order to avoid this issue.
You may contact Honda if your motorcycle has been recalled, especially if you’re afraid leaving the recall unaddressed until Honda contacts you will put your safety in danger.
