Computer Issue Prompts Major VW Recall — Company Still Can’t Get All Cars Fixed

Car accidents may happen for a variety of reasons. Most of them have to do with human error and may include issues such as distractions, speeding, and intoxicated driving. Unfortunately, there are other causes for concern that are not associated with human error — at least not when the driver’s concerned.

Because equipment failure may lead to serious and sometimes even deadly accidents, drivers should not ignore reports associated with vehicles being recalled. Especially if it’s reported that impacted cars have been associated with accidents.

Volkswagen has just announced that it is recalling several cars across the country, including sedans and wagons.

Impacted models include the 2009 through 2016 CC models and the 2006 through 2010 Passat sedan and wagon models. Volkswagen has reported that all owners will be contacted about the issue in October.

The issue with the cars is that the vehicles may have been fitted with fuel pump control computers that could lose electrical power. In that case, the gas will stop flowing and the engine will stop. This may increase the risk of an accident.

Replacement computers should be available in the near future so the company will contact impacted vehicle owners twice, once to announce the recall and once to let impacted vehicle owners know that the replacement parts are readily available.

This report is important because it impacts thousands of vehicles nationwide. As you may know, many recalled vehicles are often associated with accidents caused by the equipment issue in question. And in many of these cases, accidents turn out serious. If drivers are serious about their safety and the safety of their loved ones, they won’t ignore this campaign.
