After A Deadly Injury Incident, Company Recalls Bicycles

Certain models of bicycle are under scrutiny after an incident turned out deadly. If anything, this reminds us that certain recalls should never be ignored. After all, they are related to issues that may lead to a serious injury.

According to the company, the Cannondale CAADX Cyclocross bikes of the 2013 through 2016 model years come with forks that can fracture. If this is the case, a cyclist can fall and suffer injuries. At least one incident resulted in injuries that turned out to be deadly. The company also learned of at least ten other incidents, seven of which involved serious injuries such as spinal injuries and concussions.

Impacted riders purchased their Cannondale Cyclocross CAADX bicycle between August 2012 and August 2017 from authorized Cannondale retailers. At least 9,700 units of these bicycles are faulty.

You may identify these bicycles for the CAADX marking on the top tube. The items also come with disc brakes and an “ULTRAX” marking on the inside of the fork. These bicycles also come with cables running outside of the fork as opposed to inside.

If you own one of these bikes, you should stop using it immediately. Contact an authorized Cannondale dealer and secure your replacement fork in order to prevent injuries.

It’s Never A Good Idea To Ignore Injury-Related Recalls

This bicycle recall is serious because at least one person died after experiencing equipment failure. And it’s precisely because of the potential risks, and the fact that others suffered serious injuries, that bicycle riders who use this bike regularly should act fast.

Negligent firms that learn about defective products and don’t act promptly often endanger countless consumers. And it’s precisely because of their lack of care that victims must not stay silent.

If you’re a consumer and you are worried about your safety and the safety of your loved ones, you should never ignore a similar recall.
