Pregnant Woman, Children Injured In Two-Car Accident

Washington residents are, unfortunately, all too familiar with auto accidents that result in serious, deadly injuries. And yet, many of these accidents could have been prevented if drivers had taken some important precautions.

As personal injury attorneys, this reality haunts and saddens us.

The latest accident to have sent individuals and children to hospitals took place in Pierce County, Washington. According to news organizations statewide, a pregnant woman was driving a car carrying another adult, a 3-year-old, and a 6-year-old.

The collision involving two cars happened on northbound 167 near 31st Pierce County. The second car was also being driven by a pregnant woman who refused treatment. The first pregnant driver and the two children suffered minor injuries while the passenger had to undergo surgery.

Authorities say that the four people injured were not wearing seat belt at the time of the collision.

While we’re not sure what prompted the accident, we know that wearing the seat belt is paramount.

If we’re serious about the safety of our loved ones and our own safety, we will go out of our way to make sure that we have all safety features in place. Seat belts, for instance, must always be buckled. Whether you like it or not. They save lives.

We are glad to hear that nobody was seriously injured in this accident but are hoping that others learn from this accident. Hopefully, officials will be able to disclose more information on how the collision came to be so more people are made aware of the factor that allowed this collision to happen.

We hope that those who were injured in this two-car accident are recovering in full and quickly.

If anything, Washington drivers should learn that wearing a seat belt and insisting that everyone does so as well can save lives.
