BMW Cars Could Pose Injury Risks To Passengers

Many auto recalls are launched because of issues that may trigger injuries in the case of an accident. Because we are aware of many negligent automakers that often ignore equipment issues, putting the lives of countless consumers in danger, we believe that it’s important to remind our readers and drivers that recalls should not be ignored.

The latest recall campaign to involve issues that may lead to injuries impacts BMW vehicles.

According to the manufacturer, thousands of SUVs are being recalled because the nat that detects whether there’s a passenger occupying the passenger seat may fail. In this case, the air bag may not be triggered in the event of an accident and major injuries may occur as a result.

The mat may be defective because it may develop cracks due to normal wear. If that’s the case, then the electrical signals will be interrupted and the front air bag may then switch off.

While the company isn’t aware of any injuries tied to accidents because of this problem, this is the third time the company recalls vehicles over this same issue.

Impacted models include the 2006 through 2010 X3 SUVs.

Impacted vehicle owners will be contacted and will be asked to visit a dealer where they will be able to have the mats replaced for free. Unfortunately, BMW will only start reaching out to drivers in late November.

If you’re concerned about your safety and the safety of your loved ones, you may reach out to BMW directly for more information on how to avoid incidents until the company is able to repair your car for free.

You may also stay alert and report any incidents involving the air bag in your recalled X3 to the company and the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Injury accidents happen too often and drivers should do all in their power to avoid them. Yet major automakers who are negligent will often get off the hook because drivers involved in accidents caused by equipment failure fail to have an attorney at their side.
