No Fixes Yet for Fire-Related Recall

Multiple news reports show that thousands of vehicles are being subject to recalls launched nationwide over issues that could expose consumers to injury and crash risks. In at least one case, the automaker is still working on developing a remedy.

According to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Jaguar is recalling several of its latest Jaguar F-Type SVR vehicles. The units, which were manufactured between February and August of 2016, come with bolts connecting the rear lower control arms to the knuckle assembly that could fail prematurely.

In case of a premature failure, the rear control arm assembly may end up detaching from the vehicle and the vehicle may end up being involved in a crash.

Jaguar has announced that all impacted owners will be contacted after December 19. Once you’re contacted, owners will be urged to visit a dealer where the bolt connecting the rear knuckle joint and the lower control arm will be replaced entirely for free.

While Jaguar’s recall only impacts a small number of vehicles, the next recall report we’ll tackle impacts a great deal more of vehicles.

Mazda Recalls Vehicles, But Doesn’t Have Fixes Available

According to the NHTSA, Mazda North America Operations has launched a recall that impacts all units of the 2004 through 2008 RX-8 vehicles manufactured between April 10, 2003 and February 18, 2008. The official announcement shows that, in the impacted vehicles, fuel pump sealing rings may deteriorate as a result of exposure to heat coming either from the engine or the exhaust pipe.

Due to the fact that this problem could ignite a vehicle fire, causing occupants serious harm, consumers are being urged to pay attention to the risk.

Mazda has reported that, currently, there aren’t any remedies available. Once the company is able to obtain the thousands of parts necessary to have all vehicles repaired, impacted vehicle owners will be contacted directly.
