It seems hard to believe but certain products pose injury risks to consumers that are often ignored. Unfortunately, many of these products end up being involved in incidents long before companies launch recalls to have the issue addressed. While the latest consumer product recall was launched after incidents were reported, at least they did not result in injuries.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, a series of dining benches are being recalled over a possible injury hazard as the products are known for collapsing in at least two incidents.
Since the foam seat cushion and base may end up cracking in the middle, the seat may collapse and those occupying the seats may fall and injure themselves. Impacted products include the Marseille dining benches that are made of rubber wood and that come with beige linen seat cushions.
All impacted units come with the model number VH1103 on the product label.
The benches’ importer, Vilo Home, learned of at least two incidents involving the benches collapsing. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Consumers with the recalled products are urged to contact Vilo to learn more about how they should proceed to obtain a refund.
