Passenger In Critical Condition After DUI Accident

Many accidents that take place in Washington unfortunately result in injuries. It’s tough to see victims fighting for their lives and at times, fighting to obtain help from insurance companies to cover for their medical expenses. As personal injury attorneys, we see enough of these cases and that’s why we’re delighted to help those who go through these experiences.

The latest auto crash to result in serious injuries in Washington took place this Saturday night.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a vehicle crashed off state Route 7 late last Saturday night. Officials say that the 41-year-old driver and her passenger, a 49-year-old, lost consciousness as a result of the accident. After the driver got back to her senses, she called 911. Unfortunately, she wasn’t sure where they were and officers couldn’t find them. On Sunday morning, a passerby heard the woman screaming, finding the crashed car.

Officials arrived to see the car down in the trees. The passenger in the vehicle is in critical condition but is now being treated while the driver, who wasn’t seriously injured, was arrested on DUI and vehicular assault charges.

While we’re glad that both occupants involved in this accident are recovering, it’s heartbreaking to learn that the driver was impaired at the time of the accident. Unfortunately, this happens quite often, as drivers appear to ignore the risks associated with the practice.

We urge drivers all across the state to remember that safety should always come first. And that when it comes to putting your safety first, you should make sure that that involves following the law.

Drunken driving is deadly and dangerous, and it’s also against the law. We must avoid taking part in this type of activity at all costs. So if you’re going out for a drink or two, have a designated driver or contact a ride service such as Uber or Lyft so that you are not putting yourself in danger.
