Motorcyclist Clings To Life After Serious Crash

Every now and then a series of reports of crashes flood the news cycle, and we scramble to go over these cases as we choose which crash we should discuss in our blog. It’s always with a heavy heart that we choose to talk about such accidents, as many result in serious injuries and even deaths.

This past week has been a busy one for law enforcement as several reports of accidents were covered by Washington news agencies. The latest report involving a crash comes from Seattle and, unfortunately, the victim is seriously injured.

According to a series of news reports, a motorcycle rider is unfortunately clinging to life after his bike was involved in a collision with a car.

The 80-year-old driver of the BMW SUV was heading east on South Bangor Street when, at the intersection with 56th Avenue, he decided to make a U-turn to head back west. As he did so, a 26-year-old man on his motorcycle headed east and both vehicles collided. Due to the severity of the crash, the rider suffered life-threatening injuries.

Emergency crews arrived promptly at the scene to aid the victim, but further information on the cause of the crash was not immediately available.

Many similar collisions happen for different reasons. Sometimes, drivers are not paying attention while sometimes, drivers are speeding. In other times, they make U-turns illegally, putting the lives of others in danger.

Regardless of what happened in this case, we hope the authorities find the reason behind this action soon so others may learn from this driver’s mistakes.

We hope that the motorcycle rider in this tragic crash is able to recover from his injuries. As personal injury attorneys we know exactly what people like him and their loved ones go through in this terrifying times. We urge others to avoid making the same mistakes that this driver made and to always be mindful of motorcyclists, as motorcycles are sometimes easy to miss.
