A 22-year-old man is being charged for a fatal motorcycle accident in West Richland in February, according to news reports.

A 22-year-old man is being charged for a fatal motorcycle accident in West Richland in February, according to news reports.

The young man was charged Wednesday morning with vehicular homicide and vehicular assault charges, according to the West Richland Police.

The fatal accident occurred Feb. 12 when the 22-year-old was riding his motorcycle on Kennedy Road just west of Bombing Range Road. He then crossed into the path of another motorcycle, with two people onboard, traveling west on Kennedy Road. The bike collided, throwing a 52-year-old man and his 51-year-old wife from the second bike.

The man was treated at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, but later died from injuries sustained in the collision. The wife was injured and treated at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.

According to the Washington State Patrol and West Richland police, the 22-year-old caused the collision by speeding.
