Yakima Single-Car Accident Kills 1

Media outlets reported that a 21-year-old Yakima man was killed Friday night in a single-vehicle accident off of Interstate 82.

According to a report from the Washington State Patrol, the 21-year-old Yakima man was traveling westbound on Interstate 82 in his 1996 Ford Explorer at approximately 8:45pm when he lost control of his vehicle. As the man exited the interstate at North First Street, the man apparently lost control of his vehicle on a curve and struck a guardrail. Washington State Patrol troopers have yet to comment on whether they believe speed, drugs or alcohol played contributing roles in this accident, however, they are continuing their investigation into the accident.

The 21-year-old driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead. No other vehicles or injuries were reported in relation to this accident.
