Woman in Bridge Crash Still in Critical Care

A woman is still in critical condition following a fatal accident on an Interstate 5 bridge in Woodland on Monday, according to news reports.

The fatal incident occurred around 9:25 p.m. when the woman lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a barrier on the bridge, according to news reports. As her vehicle came to a stop in the roadway, a 61-year-old man who flew in from Portland to visit his father stopped with his brother to assist the driver. As they were outside their vehicle, another driver, who was unable to stop, then crashed into them, killing the Portland man.

The same vehicle then crashed into the woman, knocking her into the river. She sustained a broken arm, two broken legs, internal injuries and hypothermia. She was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center for treatment.

The accident closed all northbound lanes of I-5 until about 3 a.m. Washington State Patrol investigators are working to determine all the factors in the crash.

As a Vancouver car accident attorney, I’m saddened to hear about this car accident. I hope the victims in this crash are able to experience a full and speedy recovery.
