The first victim from Sunday’s fatal bus crash in Oregon has been identified as a 57-year-old Washington man.

Nine people were killed when a tour bus slid off a hill covered in ice and dropped 200 feet down an embankment. At least 38 people suffered injuries.

The nine-day tour of the western United States had been organized by a travel agency in British Columbia. Some of the passengers were reportedly so scared of getting on another bus that they will be transported via passenger vehicles to Canada where the trip was scheduled to end.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Oregon State Police were working to complete an inspection of the bus. Federal investigators will be looking at numerous potential factors that could have contributed to the crash.
