Volkswagen, Chrysler Launch Recalls Over Accident Hazards

Two major automakers are launching recalls tied to issues that could lead to accidents.

Volkswagen reported that its 2019 and 2019 Atlas, 2015 Golf SportWagon, and 2019 Jetta vehicles come with rear coil springs that could suffer fractures prematurely. If that is the case, then the rear tire may suffer damage while the vehicle is in use. This will lead to loss of vehicle control and an accident will take place.

Thousands of vehicles seem to have this issue. And the company stated that owners will get a notification in the mail. At dealers, staff will replace the rear axle coil springs for free.

If you own one of the impacted vehicles and you did not get a notification in the mail, you may contact Volkswagen directly to learn more about this recall and its risks.

The second recall we’re alerting consumers about comes from Chrysler. According to the company, the firm is recalling its 2019 Jeep Cherokees because of an instrument cluster problem. Since it may fail while in use, the activation of warning chimes and other alerts may not happen. If that is the case, drivers won’t have access to important information about the vehicle’s condition. This could eventually lead to accidents.

Chrysler already notified all owners. It also claims that dealers will replace the instrument cluster completely free of charge. However, if you own the recalled vehicle and the company has yet to contact you, don’t hesitate to call.

Schedule a visit to a dealer as soon as possible to avoid any potential risks.

Do Not Ignore Recall Alerts, As Issues May Lead To Accidents

If you own a vehicle listed under a recall campaign, avoid delay.

Fixing your car as soon as possible will help you to avoid accidents. After all, most of the recalls involving safety issues are about equipment failure of some kind. Ignoring a recall or postponing getting it fixed could put lives in danger.
