Two Injured in Possible DUI Crash

Two people were injured in a car accident that may have been caused by driving under the influence early Thursday on State Route 169 in Enumclaw, according to news reports.

The incident occurred around 1:03 a.m. when a 41-year-old driver from Seattle was heading northbound on State Route 169 in a 2003 Chevy Tahoe. As she was driving, she reportedly lost control of her vehicle and crossed the centerline of the highway at S.E. 383rd Street, according to the Washington State Patrol.

As she came into oncoming traffic, she reportedly crashed head-on into a 2010 Chevy Malibu.

A 64-year-old woman from Black Diamond who was driving the Malibu was injured in the crash. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. She is reportedly in critical condition and in intensive care at Harbor Medical Center in Seattle.

The driver of the Tahoe was also injured and airlifted to Harborview. She is listed in satisfactory condition as of Thursday morning, according to news reports.

Washington State Patrol investigators said drugs or alcohol is suspected in this case. They are working to determine all the factors in this crash.
