Two people were injured in a car accident near Interstate 5 in Ferndale on Tuesday afternoon, according to news reports.
The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday when a 57-year-old man was driving on Grandview Road in Ferndale. He reportedly lost control of his vehicle, and crossed the center line of the road, just east of I-5.
The driver crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a Nissan driven by a 45-year-old Fernald man.
Both drivers were transported to Saint Joseph Hospital in Bellingham. The extent of their injuries or current condition is unknown, according to news reports.
It is not clear what exactly caused the man to cross over the center line causing the collision; however police don’t believe driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
Troopers said the man will be cited for crossing the center line, according to news reports.
