TV Wall Mount Product Recall

Purchasing a nice, new flat screen TV is a monumental event for most people.  Now, imagine affixing it to your wall only to have your precious new piece of electronics break off from it’s mount and come crashing to the floor.  What would be even worse is if it fell on top of you or your child and caused a personal injury.  Milestone AV Technologies LLC out of Savage, Minnesota is recalling their television wall mounts for that very reason.

Their products feature an elbow joint which allows the TV to swivel away from the wall.  However, this piece is defective and doesn’t fit into the mount’s arm correctly.  This can cause the TV to tilt forward, off of it’s axis of balance, and potentially fall over.  If a child was underneath the TV, they could easily be crushed in such an accident.  The name of the product is the Sanus Vision Mount Model LF228-B1 and Simplicity model SLF2.  This voluntary recall with the CPSC affects approximately 131,000 pieces.

As a Tacoma personal injury lawyer, I urge you to check your wall mount to see if it is affected by the recall.  The company is offering a free replacement wall mount arm if you own one of the defective products.  If you’re not sure what to look for to see if you have one of the recalled pieces, please review this website for instructions.
