Trooper Injured in Icy Puyallup Crash

A Washington state trooper was injured in a car accident Thursday morning along Highway 512 in Puyallup, according to news reports.

The trooper sustained minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash on the snowy highway around 2:20 a.m. The collision occurred when a pickup truck lost control as it tried to exit the highway at East Pioneer Avenue and hit the trooper’s car. The patrol car then crashed into another vehicle, which slammed into a barricade.

One person, the trooper, was injured in the three-car collision. He sustained a minor injury to his hand and knee.

As a Tacoma car accident attorney, I’m glad to hear that only minor injuries were reported in the collision. The icy roads can be especially dangerous for vehicles who don’t have four-wheel driver or aren’t outfitted with chains on the tires.  I urge drivers to be very careful when driving in weather with rain and low temperatures. I urge drivers to slow down and not tailgate the drivers in front of them. Also, it might be a good idea to use studded tires or chains when traveling on icy roads.
