Toy Tuck Sold at Dollar Stores Recalled

Family Dollar Stores Inc. is announcing a recall on a remote-controlled toy truck because the product could pose a burn risk to children.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Family Dollar Stores Inc. is recalling about 67,000 remote-controlled toy tanks because the tank’s controller can overheat and melt, causing the consumer to potentially suffer from burns.

“This recalled product is the Authentic Heroes Target Practice Tank play set, a remote-controlled green toy tank attached by a cable to a grey battery-powered controller. The controller requires three AAA batteries to power the tank to move forward and backward and the tank turret to rotate and shoot projectiles. The controller is marked ‘Target Practice Tank Play Set,’” CPSC said, according to the news report.

Thankfully, no reported of burns or other injuries have been reported in connection to this recall.

As a Seattle personal injury lawyer, I urge parents to check their children’s toys for this recalled truck. Consumers are advised to remove the batteries and return the toy to a Family Dollar store to receive a full refund.
