According to multiple news agencies, peacock brand preserved apricots are being recalled.
The announcement released by the company through the Food and Drug Administration has revealed that these preserved apricots contain sulfites, which are not declared on the product’s label. The Food and Drug Administration has demonstrated that sulfites could lead to serious adverse reactions in asthmatics and because of that, this recall was deemed necessary.
The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food inspectors discovered the presence of these undeclared sulfites after a random analysis of a sample of these apricots.
Although no illnesses have been reported in association with these recalled peacock brand preserved apricots, the producer Hong Lee Trading Inc. along the FDA urges consumers to refrain from consuming any of these items.
It’s my sincere hope as an Olympia personal injury lawyer that this recall campaign is successful. I’d hate to learn that recalled apricots were responsible for somebody suffering severe adverse reactions as a result of the consumption of these recalled food items. Anytime you learn about a food product recall, I encourage you to follow the FDA’s advice. Certain recalled items could pose serious health risks to you and your family.
I applaud the efforts of the company to issue this recall promptly to avoid any illnesses in the future and hope that more companies will follow this example.
