Nestlé: Toll House Raw Cookie Dough May Contain Pieces Of Plastic

Nestlé USA is recalling Toll House raw cookie dough sold across the country after the firm learned that consumers found pieces of plastic in the ready-to-bake products.

If you are one of the millions of Americans who simply cannot resist Toll House raw cookie dough, you might want to think again.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published an announcement this Monday indicating that the firm is recalling ready-to-bake refrigerated cookie dough products sold at several retailers, including Publix and Walmart, nationwide.

The decision followed reports from “a small number of consumers” who complained that the dough had small pieces of white plastic.

Despite Complaints, Cookie Dough Products Did Not Expose Consumers To Illness

To Nestlé USA’s knowledge, none of the consumers who registered complaints regarding the pieces of plastic found in the Toll House cookie dough suffered health-related issues. Additionally, the firm stated that it is working with the FDA to remedy this situation and prevent any future issues. In any case, consumers are alerted that if they have the product in their refrigerator, they should not consume it.

You can identify the potentially dangerous products by the UPC code 050000429912, which can be found on the back of the packaging. All recalled items were produced between June and September and were sold as NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® STUFFED Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough with Fudge Filling products. No other flavors were impacted.

All Recalled Products Should Be Returned

If you find the recalled product in your refrigerator, Nestlé USA and the FDA warned that you should not prepare or consume it. Instead, return the product to the retailer where it was purchased for a refund.

According to the company, no other Nestlé or Toll House products were impacted by this problem.
