Injury Concerns Yield Recall Campaigns

Many auto recalls have been launched recently. But few are launched over injury concerns alone. The latest recalls to be announced by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration impact vehicles that are widely popular in America. And that may expose consumers to serious injury concerns.

The first campaign consumers at large shouldn’t ignore comes from Toyota. At least 73,000 vehicles were impacted.

According to the reports, the 2016 and 2017 Tundra vehicles come with resin rear bumper steps that resin reinforcement brackets on each corner of the bumper that may be damaged.

Since the corner of the rear bumper may be affected, an individual may step on that corner, causing it to break. If that occurs, the individual may be exposed to injury.

The company has announced that all resin reinforcement brackets will be replaced with steel ones.

Toyota has announced that all impacted vehicle owners will be contacted starting mid-February. Once the firm has reached out to you to report on the recall, schedule a visit at a dealer and have your vehicle repaired as soon as possible. But if you’re a Chevrolet owner, there’s another recall campaign you should pay attention to.

According to the company, thousands of Cruze vehicles have been recalled over defective seats. Due to this issue, occupants may be exposed to injury risks in the event of crashes.

The recall campaign was deemed necessary once Chevrolet learned that the 2016 and 2017 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles may have been fitted with an incorrectly welded bracket in the recliner mechanism. If that’s the case, the bad weld may reduce the seat’s capability to maintain its position. It may also fail to manage loads in case of a crash. If that occurs, the seat may separate, and the individual impacted may be exposed to injury.

Consumers will be contacted in order to be alerted about the recall in the near future. If you have one of the recalled vehicles and you’re concerned about your safety, reach out to Chevrolet to obtain more information on how you can proceed to have this issue addressed. At dealers, the seat-back frames will be replaced entirely for free. Since it’s unclear when the company will reach out to consumers, you’re urged to stay alert and reach out directly if you have further questions.
