Equipment Failure Tied to General Motors & Toyota Recalls

According to a series of reports, General Motors is recalling thousands of vehicles over crash risks. The recall announcement indicate that over 4,000 vehicles have been fitted with front upper control arms that could bear welds that are not adequate. Since these welds are placed near the control arm bushing, the part may come detached, which could cause the driver to suffer a possible accident.

Recalled units include the 2016 and 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 units as well as the 2016 Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, GMC Yukon, and GMC Yukon XL units. These recalled vehicles should be inspected and repaired promptly for free. All front upper control arms from both the left and the right sides should be replaced during the repair process.

Until the repairs are carried out, consumers with the recalled vehicles are being urged to avoid driving the vehicles.

At least 4,789 vehicles have been impacted by this recall.

Toyota’s Recall Impacts Over 58,000 Vehicles Nationwide

Another auto recall consumers should not ignore has been launched by Toyota.

According to the official report, Toyota has launched the auto recall in order to make sure that the 2016 Avalon and Camry vehicles manufactured between November 30, 201 and March 4, 2016 are promptly fixed.

The official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report shows that the recalled vehicles come with occupant classification systems that may activate or deactivate the air bag system that serves the front passenger seat incorrectly. Since the system may have been improperly calibrated, the risk is much greater, putting passengers in danger of being injured in the event of a crash in case the air bag system doesn’t work.

To make sure that passengers are safe, consumers with the recalled vehicles will be contacted directly by the manufacturer after May 31. If you own one of the recalled vehicles and you would like to learn more about this recall campaign in person, contact Toyota directly for more details.

Avoid injury crashes by making sure that the vehicle you’re driving is safe. Ignoring this or another auto recall that impacts a vehicle you drive may lead to serious—and even deadly—injuries.
