Chipotle Linked to Another E. Coli Outbreak

As a great number of products are recalled nationwide over potential contamination incidents, reports concerning Chipotle’s issues with E. coli continue to flood the news.

According to a series of news reports, a new strain of E. coli was linked to other outbreaks of infections associated with the Mexican Grill chain.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that it’s currently investigating the more recent outbreak and that it’s associated with five cases of consumers falling ill after visiting Chipotle restaurants in Kansas, North Dakota, and Oklahoma. The incidents occurred between November 18 and 26. The current case that impacted Washington residents sickened at least 53 consumers in Oregon and Washington states.

This would be the fourth time Chipotle is linked to a food contamination scandal in 2015.

As consumers and health officials wonder what’s behind Chipotle’s contamination cases, the number of illnesses grows. As CDC begins to investigate the outbreaks associated with the different strain of E. coli, more consumers are expected to speak out.

If you’re a consumer in one of the impacted states, seek the attention of a doctor immediately after you begin feeling the symptoms usually associated with E. coli contamination such as fever, diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach cramps. Get tested in order to verify whether you were exposed to the same type of bacteria others were exposed to.
