Due to potential burn and fire hazards One World Technologies has issued a voluntary recall for its Ryobi Lithium 18 V 4Ah Battery Pack. According to the official recall notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, these battery packs may become overheated and explode while charging, posing a potential burn and fire hazard to consumers. Approximately 54,200 Ryobi brand, Lithium 18 V 4Ah battery packs, which were sold at Home Depot nationwide for about $100.  At least four instances of overheating causing minor property damage have been reported to One World Technologies to date.
