Study Reveals Chances of Death in SUV and Passenger Car Wreck

A University at Buffalo study found that drivers of passenger cars are 10 times more likely to die in a fatal wreck with an SUV if the SUV has a better crash test rating. If the passenger vehicle has better ratings, the driver is four times more likely. SUVs are more likely to crash over shorter cars since their bumpers don’t match up, which gives them the advantage in a car wreck because they crush the other car. Rollover wrecks are also less likely to happen with SUVs, according to news reports.
