When you think of the state patrol, you probably think about speeding tickets. However, Washington State Patrol troopers also spend a lot of time helping stranded motorists.

According to the state patrol, troopers assisted more than 10,000 stranded motorists in 2012. The state patrol carry some basic tools, and although they admit they are not mechanics, they can oftentimes help drivers get back on the road.

This is an important service because stranded vehicles can create road hazards that put the vehicle’s occupants and others in danger. You should always bring a road safety kit with you.
