Speed, Alcohol Suspected in Accident that Killed a Man

A man was killed on Highway 20 after a rear-end accident on Tuesday night, according to recent news sources.

The accident occurred near Burlington. Washington State Patrol reported that a 62-year-old from Seattle rear-ended another car at a stop light. The car that was hit was driven by a 73-year-old man from Anacortes.

The man that was hit died as a result of his injuries. The 62-year-old man who hit him was not injured. He has been arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide.

The Washington State Patrol has cited driving under the influence, as well as traveling at high speeds, as factors in the accident that caused the man’s death. Not many details are available at this time, as the accident is still under investigation.
