A Skyway man who is charged with a car accident involving two children last week has a record of charges against him, dating from when he was 10 years old, according to news reports.

The 40-year-old man reportedly crashed his car while driving with his two small children on Wednesday. His “BMW sedan flipped after hitting a parked car in the 1800 block of 12th Avenue. Witnesses told police they saw the driver grab two small children from the crashed BMW before running off,” according to news reports.

The man is being charged with drunken driving, hit-and-run, reckless endangerment and driving with a suspended license for the accident.

He has a criminal record of nearly 50 charges since he was 10, including second-degree murder, second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and violation of a protection order.
