Media outlets reported that a 26-year-old Portland man sustained moderate injuries in a car accident on Highway 14 in Skamania County Wednesday night.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 7:30pm in Skamania County roughly 2 miles west of North Bonneville. The man was traveling on Highway 14 when he approached a curve and allegedly lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons; however troopers believe the man was driving at excessive speeds for the road conditions. The 26-year-old’s 2003 Suzuki then struck a guardrail and skidded from the roadway. Debris from the accident covered the roadway and was struck by a Ford pickup truck driven by a Battle Ground man, who was not injured in the incident.
The Portland man was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver for the treatment of lacerations and abrasions to his leg, hip and back he sustained during the crash. As of Thursday morning, he was listed in satisfactory condition by hospital staff.
As an Olympia car accident attorney, I’m relieved to hear that no one was more seriously injured in this potentially deadly accident. I wish the victim a speedy recovery from his injuries so that he may more quickly put this event behind him. If you’ve been injured in an accident as the result of another’s negligent driving, it may be in your best interests to speak with a car accident lawyer in your city.
