Single-Vehicle Crash Kills Woman near Spokane

One woman died in a car accident on Interstate 90 near Spokane on Thursday, according to news reports.

The accident occurred when a 31-year-old woman from Lake Forest Park near Seattle was driving westbound on I-90 around 8:10 a.m. She was driving her 2000 Subaru Legacy about six miles west of Ritzville when she lost control of her vehicle. Her car left the roadway and rolled into the median, ejecting her from the vehicle, according to the Washington State Patrol.

She was airlifted to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center after the single-vehicle accident. She died at the hospital from injuries sustained in the single-vehicle collision.

It is unclear what caused the woman to lose control of her vehicle and crash. It is also unclear if she was wearing a seat belt. The accident is being investigated, according to news reports.
