A 40-year-old woman from Seattle was taken to a hospital Monday afternoon following a rollover collision on Interstate 90 near Easton, according to the Daily Record News.
The crash happened at about 12:47 p.m. The Washington State Patrol reported she was driving westbound on I-90 in a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder when her vehicle left the roadway on the right side near mile post 69. The vehicle rolled down an embankment and ended up with its wheels partially on Sparks Road, which runs parallel to the interstate.
The woman was transported to a nearby community hospital, and the Nissan was described as being totaled.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but police say no drugs or alcohol were involved.
I hope this woman makes a full recovery from her injuries and learns from this accident. Although we do not know why she lost control of her vehicle, I encourage everyone to drive carefully and always keep their eyes on the road. It only takes one moment of distraction for the vehicle to start to go off the side of the road, and once that happens, you might find yourself in trouble. Once the wheels move off the roadway, the vehicle may be pulled even further in that direction.
