A pregnant woman was injured when she was dragged by her own vehicle on a Kirkland street on Saturday, according to news reports.
The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. in the 500 block of 9th Avenue when she was reportedly trying to get into her Range Rover. As she was parked in her sloping driveway the vehicle was out of the parked gear and began rolling away. She reportedly tried to jump into the vehicle, but she was caught by the door and dragged along the ground.
“The Range Rover rolled down the driveway, across the street and into a neighbor’s yard, where it mowed down a small tree and crashed through a wooden fence, dragging the woman with it,” according to news reports.
Witnesses at the scene called 911 and medics responded. They said the woman didn’t break any bones, but was injured with abrasions and bruises. She was transported to a local hospital. Her current condition or status of her unborn baby is unknown.
As a Bellevue car accident attorney, I’m saddened to hear about this car accident. I hope the woman is able to make a full and speedy recovery. I also hope that her unborn child was able to escape harm.
