An elderly woman died when she was struck by a car while crossing a Colfax, Wash., road, according to news reports.

The accident occurred around 3 p.m. when a 76-year-old Colfax woman was crossing the 300 block of South Main Street. As she was walking in the crosswalk, a 57-year-old Moses Lake man crashed his a Chevy pick-up truck into her.
She was transported to Whitman Community Hospital with injuries following the collision, where she was pronounced dead shortly after.
It is unclear what caused the driver to crash into the pedestrian. Police do not believe the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the collision, according to news reports.
The driver has not yet been cited for the collision.
Investigators are working to determine all the factors in the collision.
