One woman died Saturday morning when a vehicle hit her while she was walking along Interstate 5, according to news reports.
The 23-year-old pedestrian from Fife, Wash., died in the collision, which occurred around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. The collision occurred when the woman was walking along the freeway near Midway Landfill when a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 62-year-old Tacoma man crashed into her.
It is unclear why the woman was walking along the freeway.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the collision. It is unclear whether any charges will be filed in the collision.
