OSHA Issues Annual Inspection Plan for Dangerous Workplaces

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has released a plan to inspect workplaces with the highest rates of illness and injury.

The agency devises the plan based on data from 80,000 establishments that operate in high-hazard industries. OSHA is now trying to evaluate the effectiveness of the program by selected 1,260 establishments at random to make a comparison.

OSHA has 11 national emphasis inspection programs and approximately 140 regional and local emphasis programs.
