One person died in a motorcycle crash Tuesday night in Federal Way, according to news reports.

The fatal motorcycle accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. when a 22-year-old Federal Way man was riding in the 1200 block of SW Dash Point Road, according to the Federal Way police. As he was driving along the roadway, he reportedly tried to pass a vehicle. He passed the centerline of the road and “he broadsided a minivan that had pulled out of a side street,” according to news reports.

Police said the motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the minivan sustained minor injuries, according to news reports.

It is unclear who is at fault for the fatal crash. Detectives are working to determine all the factors in the crash and the exact cause. So far, no citations have been issued, according to news reports. The investigation is ongoing.
