Motorcyclist Injured for “Driving with Wheels off Roadway”

A man was injured in a car accident Sunday morning on state Route 821 in Ellensburg, according to news reports.

The accident occurred around 11:15 a.m. when a 47-year-old Yakima man was driving his 2008 Yamaha XVS650 about 6 miles north of Selah. As he was driving on state Route 821, the Yakima River Canyon Highway, he failed to negotiate a left turn, according to news reports. The driving error caused him to leave the roadway to the right, crashing and landing on its side.

The man sustained injuries, including a leg injury and chest pains, and was transported to Yakima Regional Hospital.

Police cited the man for driving with wheels off roadway, according to the Washington State Patrol.

As a Yakima car accident attorney, I’m saddened to hear about this motorcycle crash. I hope the man is able to experience a full and speedy recovery. My condolences go out to this man’s friends and family during this difficult time. I urge motorcycle riders to always practice safe driving habits to avoid an accident like this. Riders should also always wear a helmet.
