A motorcycle rider reportedly suffered serious injuries after a collision with another vehicle in Vancouver, according to the Columbian.

The wreck happened near Northeast 76th Street and 94th Avenue at about 8:17 a.m. The motorcycle was being operated by a 45-year-old man. He was taken to a local hospital on a trauma alert.

Police blocked the area where the crash occurred during the investigation and cleanup process.

My thoughts and prayers are with the victim as well as his family and friends during this very difficult time. I hope he makes a full recovery.

An investigation into what exactly happened is still ongoing, and police have not released any additional information about the crash.

While we do not know many details about what happened in this incident, I encourage everyone to slow down a little and pay close attention to their surroundings. Follow the speed limits, and get rid of any distractions that could prohibit you from seeing other vehicles. It only takes looking away from the road for a fraction of a second to be involved in a crash.

We all have to be able to share the road, and that means we all have the responsibility to look out for other motorists.
