One man died after being fatally injured in a worksite accident on Bremerton's new Manette Bridge, according to news reports.

A 39-year-old man from Shelton died March 7 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to news reports. He was injured two days earlier while working on Manette Bridge. During the construction, a winch malfunctions and struck him in the head.

The man was an employee with Manson Construction of Seattle, according to news reports.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident, because the injury happened on a barge on the water, according to news reports.
