News outlets report that according to the state Department of Transportation, the eastbound lanes of I-90 were closed after a few trucks and vehicles jackknifed and got stuck in the snow. The roadways were closed so the authorities could clean the lanes after the weather related spinning of vehicles.

The Washington State Patrol pointed out that only a few vehicles were holding the traffic but they were concerned that the number of vehicles getting stuck because of the weather would be too great for them to handle.

After the incident that left no drivers injured, officials said that all drivers should remember that winter safety is essential. When driving over mountain passes, motorists should be extremely prepared. According to recent reports from the Washington State Patrol, the eastbound lanes of I-90 have been reopened already.

As an Everett personal injury attorney, I hope that all drivers involved in the bad weather-related incident are doing fine. Personal injury lawyers can tell you that many cases of accidents related to weather problems can end up being fatal.

Taking your eyes off the road for a second even can have horrible consequences, we must understand that our vehicle and our minds must be prepared for driving in harsh weather conditions.
