Goose Chase on Interstate 90

An unusual wild goose chase occurred on Interstate 90 in Bellevue on Wednesday, according to news reports.

The incident occurred when a goose and her goslings were walking along the busy freeway Wednesday afternoon. Washington State Patrol troopers said three police cruisers were used to help guide the family of geese along the shoulder of the interstate and prevent them from walking into oncoming traffic.

The incident began around the east end of the East Channel Bridge in Bellevue and ended when the birds were able to exit at East Mercer Way on Mercer Island.

None of the geese were injured in the incident. No other personal injuries or car accidents were reported.

The Washington State Department of Transportation said traffic was slowed while the geese were addressed.
