Fiery Crash Kills One near Hamilton

One person died in a fiery crash Friday morning near Hamilton, Wash., according to news reports.

The car accident occurred around 5 a.m. when a driver was traveling in a Chevy pickup truck eastbound on South Skagit Highway when they lost control of the vehicle. The driver, who has not yet been identified, drove off the road near Fox Creek Lane and crashed into a tree and crashed into a tree, according to news reports.

The collision caused the truck to engulf in flames. The driver was reportedly inside the vehicle when firefighters arrived at the scene.

The victim died at the scene of the accident.

It is unknown exactly how the car accident occurred. No other victims or vehicles were involved in the collision.

Washington State Patrol troopers are looking into factors involved in the crash. So far, factors including distracted driving and driving under the influence have not been ruled out.
