A man was fatally injured when he was struck by a stolen pickup truck while crossing the street. The driver fled the scene immediately.

Detectives are on the hunt for a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian and then fled the scene.  According to this news report from KING 5, a 45 year-old man whose name has not been released, was cross the 1100 block of 128th street in the southern part of Everett.  He was hit by a man driving a dark blue Ford Ranger pickup truck that investigators found out was stolen.  One witness saw the accident happen and was able to give the vehicle description to detectives who believe that two other vehicles also hit the man accidentally.

The man was unfortunately found to have sustained fatal injuries from the pedestrian accident. During their investigation, police officers went to the house of the man who is the registered owner of the pickup truck involved in the incident.  However, he claimed he thought his truck was parked in his driveway the whole time.  Detectives believe the man is “completely innocent” and “truly a victim”.

Only a half mile away, a shopper was struck in a parking lot that evening and the vehicle description matches that same blue pickup truck.  As a personal injury lawyer in Seattle, I urge you to come forward if you have any details that may be helpful to the investigation of this fatal hit and run accident.  The license plate on the Ford Ranger is B35457F.
