DUI Crash Kills One in Kennewick

A man died in a car accident early Sunday on Interstate 82 in Kennewick, Wash., according to news reports.

The fatal accident occurred when the 21-year-old man was driving on I-82 when he reportedly lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center median, rolled over and came to a rest on the right shoulder of the highway.

A 21-year-old passenger died at the scene of the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The driver was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center with injuries. Another passenger was transported to Kennewick General Hospital with undisclosed injuries, and a third passenger was released at the scene.

The Washington State Patrol said they believed drugs or alcohol played a role in the fatal car accident. Investigators are continuing to work to discover the exact cause of the crash.
